The Lynn Museum is proud to announce that as of October 2015, our collection of 10,000 3D artifacts has been fully catalogued. Our Collections Project spanned over the course of a year with the help of museum professionals. We now have a fully searchable database of our holdings, which greatly aides our curatorial staff.
We are striving to make that database public and available for researchers and visitors to explore online. Check back here later in 2016 for updates.
Our artifact collection includes the following:
Vintage post cards
Some areas in which our collection is particularly strong are:
Shoes and shoemaking tools
Firefighting equipment and artifacts
Artifacts from the Abolitionist movement
Lydia Pinkham compounds
Household and personal accessories
Our library archive has been relocated to be put on deposit at the Phillips Library of the Peabody Essex Museum. While on deposit at the Phillips Library our collection is searchable via computer worldwide. Please visit the Phillips Library website for open hours, accessibility details, and to search for Lynn Museum archives on the online database PHILCAT. If you would prefer our staff to conduct this research for you, please fill in our form above.
