Lynn history…
On view in the first floor this exhibition is culled entirely from the Museum’s collection. Accented with highlights of photographs from our library, this exhibition displays Lynn history in eight focused vignettes; black and white photography, the sea, fire, transportation, theater, politics, handicraft, and shopping.

Greetings from Lynn! Postcard Views Celebrating the City
In the decades around 1900, postcards were social media, they were e-mail, Twitter, Facebook, and Flickr, all wrapped into one. This exhibition will provide an extraordinary and nostalgic window into the cultural, social, and architectural history of early twentieth-century Lynn and its vibrant neighborhoods. We invite you to tour this exhibition of vintage postcards depicting some of the city’s famous places and spaces in bygone days and then take one with you to send on your own; we provide the card you provide the postage.

Lynn at Home
As an extension of our “Lynn History…” exhibition on view on the first floor, our new “Lynn at Home” exhibit on the second floor focuses on the weaving of fabrics within the luxurious Lynn home. The exhibition highlights different styles of furnishings–mahogany tabletops, plush Victorian chairs and portraits of Lynn homes–showcased in the early 18th century to late 19th century. In addition to displaying the popular fixtures of the Lynn home, the first edition of our “Lynn at Home” exhibit features prized components of the Hutchinson family home, including portraits, literature and a late Victorian melodian once owned by John Hutchinson. We welcome you to explore this new window into the world of the Lynn home.
