Museum Enrichment Series for All (M.E.S.A.) featuring Latoya Ogunbona
Join Lynn Museum & Arts Center on the second Wednesday of each month at noon for MESA (Museum Enrichment Series for All). This lecture series covers wellness, genealogy, and current events, featuring local experts, community members, Museum staff, and others.
Join us on July 9 as we welcome Latoya Ogunbona, LCSW, SAC of the North Shore Haitian Association!
Latoya will share the origins of the Bwa Kayiman Festival, an event celebrating the 1791 rebellion when enslaved Haitians fought against slavery and colonialism. Now in its fourth year, Latoya will discuss Lynn’s upcoming August festival, as well as the work being done by the North Shore Haitian Association. A world traveler and cultural explorer, Latoya is a licensed social worker, educator, and indoor cycling instructor.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Lynn Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
