The Ocean Has No Borders: Celebrating Community Through Poetry and Stories

The Ocean Has No Borders: Celebrating Community Through Poetry and Stories

April 26, 2025 – Both Adults and Youth Groups to convene

As a culmination of the American Scapegoat book discussions and workshops, award-winning author and poet Enzo Silon Surin will deliver reflective remarks on how storytelling and poetry are vital tools for fostering empathy, deepening understanding, and bringing people together in meaningful ways.

The event will also showcase creative writing from participants across Swampscott and Lynn, uplifting the voices of youth, educators, social advocates, and justice leaders. In addition, Enzo will lead a community-wide discussion on the role of poetry in creating inclusive spaces where all voices are heard and valued.
