2021 “Lynn PRIDE” Art Show – Call for Art
Name of Venue or Event: Lynn Museum/LynnArts (590 Washington Street, Lynn, MA 01901)
Work Media: We are looking for paintings, photographs, poetry, prints, sculpture and other visual artworks to celebrate Lynn’s queer community. The exhibition will be located on the first floor gallery space in the Lynn Museum building from June through August 2021. The exhibition will also be featured during a panel and networking night organized by Queer Lynn Scene on Wednesday, June 23rd (rain date of June 30th). LGBTQIA+ identifying artists from the Lynn community are encouraged to submit between one to three artworks to be considered for the exhibition.
Eligibility:
- Artists from the North Shore are welcome to apply, Lynn artists preferred (living, working or practicing in Lynn).
- Individuals must identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.
- Artwork should not exceed 4’ x 4’ and must be 50 lbs or less.
Entry Requirements:
- Artist resume including biography and exhibition record (if possible)
- Images of artworks to be considered (jpg, png preferred)
- Artist statement including description of artworks and materials used, as well as an image of the artist

Timeline: Exhibit will run from June through August of 2021
Entries Due: Tuesday, June 15th at 5pm
Selection Process: Entries will be reviewed by a handful of judges representing Lynn Museum/LynnArts and Queer Lynn Scene.
Notification to artist: Artists will hear back via email or phone call regarding their submission by Thursday, June 17th at 5pm.
Accepted Artwork: Lynn Museum/LynnArts staff will be responsible for setting up work for the exhibition. Artworks should be ready to install. 2D artworks should be framed/finished and ready to hang gallery style with wire (no sawtooth hangers). Some easels and tables available for use. To discuss your display needs for sculptural pieces, please email director@lynnmuseum.org.
Delivery: Friday, June 18th from 10am – 4pm and Saturday, June 19th from 10am – 5pm at the Lynn Museum (590 Washington Street, Lynn, MA, 01901).
Reception: Wednesday, June 23rd at 6pm. Rain date: Wednesday, June 30th.
Exhibit or Event Ends: Friday, August 27th
Pickup Artwork by: Thursday, September 2nd from 10am – 4pm and Friday, September 3rd from 10am – 4pm.
Publicity: Exhibit will be featured on the “Exhibitions” page of the Lynn Museum/LynnArts website, with additional promotional posts on the Lynn Museum/LynnArts Facebook and Instagram pages.
Sales: Accepted artworks can be available for purchase exclusively through the artist. The Lynn Museum/LynnArts will not be responsible for monetary transactions between the artist and the buyer. Any interested parties in purchasing artwork(s) will be given the appropriate contact information for the artist(s).
