“ICONS OF LYNN” CELEBRATION RESCHEDULED FOR SPRING 2026
A New Season to Honor the Changemakers of Lynn

Lynn, MA – The Lynn Museum & Arts Center (LMAC) is pleased to share an exciting update about its inaugural “Icons of Lynn” initiative—a powerful new tradition recognizing individuals who are making a lasting impact in our city.

While the Museum originally planned to celebrate the first class of Icons in November 2025, the Board of Directors and Steering Committee have thoughtfully decided to move the celebration to April 2026. This new date reflects the Museum’s desire to fully honor the achievements of these changemakers during a season symbolic of growth, renewal, and possibility.

“Our goal is to give these remarkable individuals the recognition they truly deserve,” said Harry MacCabe, Chair of the Steering Committee. “Spring offers a brighter, more expansive platform to celebrate their contributions and bring the community together in a meaningful way.”

The event will now coincide with a milestone in the Museum’s own story—its 129th birthday—offering a unique moment to honor Lynn’s vibrant past, celebrate the present, and build momentum for the future.

Details about the April 2026 celebration—including date, nominations, and inaugural honorees—will be announced in the coming months. Funds raised from the “Icons of Lynn” initiative will support LMAC’s operations and programs, which serve thousands of Lynn residents at little or no cost.

About the Lynn Museum & Arts Center:

Since 1897, the Lynn Museum & Historical Society has been the repository and custodian of Lynn’s history. With a collection that boasts nearly 10,000 objects, an extensive archive, and a priceless photography collection, the Museum chronicles Lynn’s rise from early American settlement to industrial powerhouse. Founded by a group of citizens dedicated to documenting their rapidly changing city and preserving the remnants of Lynn’s colonial heritage, the Lynn Historical Society evolved over the course of a century into the Lynn Museum.

In 2014, the Lynn Museum merged with its neighbors on Exchange Street, LynnArts, which offers studio space for artists and other rental spaces, such as the Neal Rantoul Black Box Theatre. Together, the Lynn Museum & Arts Center is engaging the region’s ever-changing community through exhibitions, innovative programs, theatre, and other arts and cultural activities that inspire active participation in exploring the city’s past while shaping a vision for its future.
