April School Vacation Week: Creative Writing Workshop #1 with Yetti Frenkel
The Lynn Museum is offering two multi-generational workshops, “Creative Writing Workshops: A Community Portrait in Words and Pictures,” that inspire participants to write and illustrate a story and a poem about their neighborhood. The workshops will be held in conjunction with a retrospective exhibition of the artwork of Lynn native Yetti Frenkel, whose images are inspired by the Lynn community.
For forty years, Ms. Frenkel has created images and writing based on observations of everyday life. In addition, she has taught creative writing and illustration to students throughout Massachusetts, encouraging them to use their own observations for art and writing. The first workshop, from 10:30-11:30 am, will focus on creating a story with illustrations, and the second workshop, from 12:30-1:30 pm, will introduce participants to several forms of poetry with illustrations.
