Second Saturday: Women’s History Month Celebration

Join us on the second and fourth Saturday of each month for FREE admission to the Lynn Museum! View our latest exhibitions, purchase Lynn-themed goods in our shop, check out books in our free library, and participate in art-making activities.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we hope you’ll join us for an all-day, multigenerational civics education event!

The morning session (10:00 am to 1:00 pm) is geared toward elementary through eighth-grade students and will feature round-robin sessions with our collaborators, a hands-on art project with Raw Art Works, and a boxed lunch.

The keynote speaker is Laurie Ann Thompson, author of Be a Changemaker: How to Start Something that Matters! Her Zoom presentation begins at 1:00 pm.

The afternoon session (1:00 to 4:00 pm) is for high school and college students. It will feature a presentation by Fredie Kay, Founder & President of Suffrage100MA, as well as a panel discussion facilitated by Pattye Comfort, LWVMA Executive Director:

• “Youth Changers!” with Lena Crowley, Director of Teen and Middle School Programs, Girls, Inc. of Lynn
• “What it Takes to Run for Office” with Nicole McClain, Councilor At-Large for the City of Lynn, and Adriana Paz, Campaign Manager.
• “Standing in our power, women of color leading Change” with Gail Jackson Blount, Chief Development and Communications Officer, Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center.
