Book Reading with Evelyn Elwell Uyemura (Trails & Sails)
Join author Evelyn Elwell Uyemura, a Lynn native, as she reads from her book, A Girl from Lynn: A Novel.
It is 1857, and 16-year-old Kitt Newhall of Lynn Massachusetts has plans for her life. But her plans are sidelined by an accident, labor unrest, abolitionism, illness, and the Civil War—and by love. This historic novel set in the city of Lynn is based on the true story of the first major strike in the shoe industry for which the city was known.
This event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for sale and signing by the author. RSVP preferred.
