Join us on Saturday, September 12th for our first Trails & Sails event of 2026! Ask about her inventions, her tonics and elixirs, or what it was like to be a pioneer businesswoman in the 1800s.

Irene Axelrod as Lydia Pinkham

About Lydia Pinkham:
Born to the Estes family in 1819, Lydia grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts. Before marrying Isaac Pinkham, Lydia worked as a schoolteacher, but her real claim to fame came from her company, the Lydia E. Pinkham Medicine Company, which sold home remedies and herbal compounds from recipes that she collected. The most famous of these was Lydia E Pinkham’s Vegetable Compound, and the remedy remained popular long after her death in 1883.
