Nature-Inspired Book Making with Kelly Slater
Tuesday, April 22, from 11 am – 1 pm
(Museum open 10 am – 2 pm)
Students of all ages will learn how to make two casual and easy types of journals or sketchbooks—the rubber-band bound junk journal and a hand-sewn single-signature journal. The rubber-band journal will be created with readily available materials like recycled artwork, corrugated cardboard, greeting cards, and other items usually destined for the recycling bin. The hand-sewn journal will be made with watercolor paper, to enable multi-media sketching and painting. This hand-sewn journal will be bound through a simple two-hole “sewing” technique using a hole punch and shoe laces or yarn. Each journal will include pockets that participants can use to save small items, such as leaves and dried flower heads, as inspiration for drawing, painting, or collaging in their journals. No previous experience is required, and all supplies will be provided. Contact the Lynn Museum to register at 781-581-6200.

Scales, Feathers, and Fur Live Animal Presentation
Wednesday, April 23, from 10-11:30 am (Museum open 10 am – 7 pm)
Scales, Feathers & Fur is a small, growing family of rescued and surrendered animal ambassadors! They aim to bridge the gap between humans and animals, teaching appreciation and understanding through interactive experience!

Kinetic Sand from Scratch with Outside the Box Learning Company
Thursday, April 24, from 10-11 am & 11:30 am – 12:30 pm
(Museum open 10 am – 5 pm)
Ready for some squishy fun? In this program, you’ll make your own kinetic sand! It’s soft, moldable, and oh-so-satisfying to play with. Sculpt, play, and watch the sand flow in relaxing and entertaining ways. 15 participants per workshop. RSVP required.
