April School Vacation Week
Join us for a full day of family fun ahead of our 125th anniversary! We invite families in Lynn and surrounding communities to participate in art-making activities, hands-on demonstrations, and more during April school vacation week.
Here’s our schedule for Wednesday, April 20th:
10 – 11 am: Storytime with the REAL Program
Our friends from The REAL Program will be offering a multilingual storytime. Make sure you stop by the Little Free Library in our courtyard to take or leave a book!
11:30 am – 12:30 pm: Curious Creatures
Fan-favorite, Curious Creatures returns to Lynn Museum/LynnArts with their interactive and educational live animal program.
Their collection of creatures includes:
- Baby Alligators
- Lizards – bearded dragons, iguanas, skinks, and geckos
- Snakes – pythons, boas, king snakes, corn snakes, and milk snakes
- Mammals – hedgehogs, skunks, chinchillas, rabbits, ferrets, and guinea pigs
- Turtles and Tortoises – range from baby turtles to large land tortoises
- Bugs – tarantulas, scorpions, and hissing cockroaches
- Amphibians – treefrogs and toads
12:30 – 3 pm: Look What I Can Be!
North Shore Juneteenth Association, Inc. will provide children with dress-up vests, a mirror, and posters of Black Americans in various professions. A book titled “Look What Brown Can Do!” will also be available. Participants will enjoy dressing up, checking themselves out in the mirror, and learning about the people on the posters.
We will also have coloring pages, take-home craft kits, and scavenger hunts available throughout the day! For more information, contact office@lynnmuseum.org or call us at 781-581-6200.
