Special Workshops
“The Pieces of Me” Sewing Workshop with ZNT Arts
Tuesday, February 20th from 11 am – 12:30 pm [10 spots available. Please RSVP by calling 781-581-6200]
Guest artist Zahirah Nur Truth of ZNT Arts joins Lynn Museum/LynnArts to offer a fun interactive hand-sewing project, “The Pieces of Me.” We will learn about the history of sewing, quilting, and patchwork through the African Diaspora and talk about how hand sewing was used to tell stories, pass on knowledge, and share feelings. Participants will be able to develop their own beautiful stories through art. All materials provided; no experience necessary.
Storytime with North Shore Juneteenth Association, Inc.

Join founder, president, and councilwoman Nicole McClain for a special storytime sponsored by North Shore Juneteenth Association, Inc.! Listen to some of Nicole’s favorite stories for Black History Month and some books from the Museum.

Poetry Workshop with Enzo Silon Surin
Thursday, February 22nd, from 1-2 pm
Swampscott-based and award-winning poet, educator, publisher, and social advocate Enzo Silon Surin offers a 60-minute workshop about the power of telling one’s own story. This experience is geared towards people with different writing experiences and is open to all.
Painting Workshop with Michael Aghahowa
Friday, February 23rd, from 10 am – 12 pm [12 spots available. Please RSVP by calling 781-581-6200]
Join Lynn’s accomplished artist and educator, Michael Aghahowa, for a community painting workshop. Inspired by Michael’s portraiture work and others, participants will be able to create a portrait of a prominent Black figure in our history. All materials provided; no experience necessary.
