In 1780, a twelve-year-old Lynn-er by the name of Esau Bancroft ventured out to sea aboard a privateer vessel, in service for the fledgling United States. For over two hundred years, his story has gone tragically untold. Today, new research finally brings his epic back from the briny depths and sheds light on a story too often omitted from the history books.
