Museum Enrichment Series for All (M.E.S.A.): Dendrochronology

Join Lynn Museum & Arts Center on the second Wednesday of each month at noon for MESA (Museum Enrichment Series for All). This lecture series covers wellness, genealogy, and current events, featuring local experts, community members, Museum staff, and others.

How do museums and antique dealers determine the ages of wooden objects like a chair or an ancient wooden tool? Often they turn to experts known as dendrochronologists who can pinpoint the dates of wooden objects big and small. Christopher Locke, LMAC’s Collection Manager is training in this field and will share his hands-on experiences, as well as what dendrochronologists look for when making their assessments.

This conversation will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, October 14th from noon to 1:00 p.m. Register here for the Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/y42km9MdRw-4lIjZNTIgzQ

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Lynn Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
