The Vault: Afro-Cuban Drumming Workshop
Lynn Music Foundation will host an exciting Afro-Cuban Drumming Workshop on Saturday, August 3rd!
This workshop will provide students with basic rhythms and some principles for improvisation in the seminal Afro-Cuban musical genre called rumba, which is one of the building blocks of modern Afro-Latin music, such as salsa and timba. Maestro Sandy will demonstrate the traditional Matanzas style (popularized by the group Muñequitos de Matanzas).
Drums will be available, but students are encouraged to bring their own conga drum if they have one available. No experience is necessary.
